Primetimers
Primetimers are a group of 55 and older folks that enjoy Christian fellowship and socializing together. You don’t need to be a member of Centenary to attend a function. Bring your friends and neighbors who are welcome.
We have new volunteer trip leaders who are planning exciting trips next year. Give them a little encouragement or a pat on the back for all their planning. We hope you can join us in this Christian camaraderie. P.S. We still need more church bus drivers who have a CDL, class C driver’s license. Our current drivers will help you get your license. Call Marcia Richmond at 633-5570 or email her at MarciaR1749@suddenlink.net.
Do you have a friend or neighbor who would enjoy getting out with a
group and enjoying Christian fellowship while doing fun things?
Anyone 55 and over is welcome to come to Primetimers. We guarantee
a warm welcome, lots of laughs and maybe a new friend or two!
Primetimers is looking for trip ideas for next year. We will have
a survey for you to complete in September. Can your budget handle
overnight trips? Can you be away from home for several days to
travel greater distances? Would you like to be adventurous and go
on a mystery trip, when the destination is a surprise? Please give
us your input in September, so we can plan next year’s outings.
When you make your trip reservation, please submit your check at the same time. Sorry, but no reservations can be accepted without payment. Space is always limited, so decide early which trips you will be joining. No refunds can be given on day trips; substitutions that you get are okay. However, overnight trips requiring a deposit; do have a cancellation date with a refund given. There are no profits being made on the trips; so refunds on pre-purchased tickets would be a financial drain to the church. Watch the weekly church bulletins, the Messenger and the weekly e-mails from Pastor Susan for more information on the upcoming trips.
We also meet the third Thursday of each month for a luncheon and entertainment in our church fellowship hall at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $6 for a lunch catered by Glenburnie Deli. This gives you the opportunity to meet the congregation from all three services.

The April Winston-Salem trip led by Rev. Libbie was a fun trip with us
learning the history about the early Moravian community who settled
first in Bethabarra and later Old Salem. Primetimers enjoyed
Moravian very thin, wafer-like cookies at Winkler’s Bakery where a brick
oven heated with wood is still in use. Great weather made the trip
ideal, as we had docents lead us through the Reynolda House as well as
the High Point Museum.
