At the risk of a dated reference, Joan Osborne once sang,
If God had a face what would it look like?/
And would you want to see if, seeing meant
That you would have to believe in things like heaven
And in Jesus and the saints, and all the prophets?
At some level, the thought of actually seeing God both intrigues and terrifies. This week we reflect on the challenge and hope that we might actually see God in our midst.
