Friday Greetings - March 5

A great many of my friends and colleagues have given up the use of social media for the season of Lent. I haven’t this year, but have in other years. There is something about the life of Social Media that seems almost designed to make our blood boil. Someone posts some item of news with an incendiary comment, someone else comments with an even more incendiary reply and we are off to the races. There is so much in our world that seems to make our blood boil, and we find ourselves naming our feelings as righteous indignation.

This week, as we continue our Lenten exploration of the lies of our age, we turn to the “Lie of Power” and the way it moves us away from the truth of the cross. I hope you will join us. Our worship at 8:30, 9:30, and 11:00 has room for many. You are welcome to continue joining us by Facebook Live or on the radio as well. We look forward to the time when all of us can gather around the table of the Lord together. If you would prefer for communion to be brought to you, please call the church office and we will have it delivered.
