Where neighbors are helping neighbors living with dementia

COME AGAIN --  a place for people living with dementia to connect with each other and volunteers in moments of joy while care partners are provided time to themselves. Based on Respite for All, this intentional social club lifts up everyone’s strengths in a supportive, creative and purposeful way. We all have something to give, and we all have fun!

About Come Again

Come Again is a volunteer-powered respite program for people living with early to middle stages of dementia that brings hope, joy and connection to everyone. Thanks to community-wide involvement and administrative support provided by Centenary UMC, we are disrupting the isolation brought on by dementia by providing respite one half day per week.

Program activities center the strengths and assets of people living with dementia. A day at Come Again includes:

  • Small group conversations

  • Art, games, music, movement

  • Guest speakers

  • Group service projects

  • Shared lunch

During Come Again hours, the care partner is given time to tend to other responsibilities or – just as important – to rest.

Come Again meets in the fellowship hall at Trinity United Methodist Church (2311 Elizabeth Ave, New Bern, NC 28562) on Thursdays from 10 am - 2 pm.
