Watch out: God is on the way! Every year, Advent gives us 4 weeks to get used to the idea that, in Jesus Christ, Heaven has come to Earth; that God loves us enough to move in with us, to take on our human flesh, to embrace our human condition.

And that’s the good news! Because it’s not within our own power to make a fresh start. If we’re to have a future that’s different from our past - or present - it’s got to come as a gift, not something of our own devising. What we need is a God who cares enough to show up and do something for us and with us. Thankfully, that’s the God we’ve got.
