Psalm 86
Teach me your way, Lord, so that I can walk in your truth. Make my heart focused only on honoring your name.
I give thanks to you, my Lord, my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify your name forever,
because your faithful love toward me is awesome and because you’ve rescued my life from the lowest part of hell.
The NC Council of Churches seeks to create strength through unity and peace through acts of justice. As a NC United Methodist Church, we are affiliated with this ministry. Locally, our church is part of Faith Connection which also seeks to be a bridge between our many different types of faith communities here in Craven County. I have enjoyed sitting in some of the planning meetings and hearing personal stories from many different walks of life. I have heard stories of injustice in peoples lives and have heard some incredible stories of redemption and restoration.
This week, the NC Council of Churches released a hymn that I hope you will take a moment to listen to and watch the accompanying video with lyrics. This hymn called ‘God of the Movements and Martyrs’ was written and released honoring the Council of Churches 85th anniversary. I hope you will enjoy and be touched by this as I have been.
