Friday Greetings - June 23

Do you ever feel that God doesn't know you, doesn't hear your laments or your prayers or doesn't care about you? If you're afraid or in a lot of pain, it isn't hard to find yourself in such a dark place. You're not alone. Sunday, I'll preach from Genesis 21 and talk about a woman named Hagar who thought God had abandoned her.

Last Sunday, in my Annual Conference report, I said this:


"In a historic action, the NC Conference approved and ordained as elder a pastor who is in a same-sex civil union …. If you want to know more, I’m preparing a document to share with any who are interested, and I’ll be glad to discuss it with you individually or in small groups.”
