The Centenary Connexion - September 13

September Sermon Series: Week 2

This Sunday, we will continue our sermon series connecting Scripture with some of my favorite Kenny Chesney songs. Whether you enjoy country music or not, I hope you find that the lyrics of these secular songs can help us all connect with Scripture more deeply.

This Sunday's sermon connects Jesus' words in Luke 12:13-21 to a song titled "Rich and Miserable," which you can listen to here: LINK (the music video is especially powerful). We live in a world where we often judge our success by the number of digits to the left of the decimal in our paychecks. We pursue wealth because it is viewed as the key to happiness - or so they say. Jesus, however, offers some tough truths about where we should find our meaning and how we ought to relate to money and wealth. What is too much? Where do we find our worth? We will explore these questions this Sunday!

I hope you will join us for worship at 8:30, 9:00, or 11:00!
