Our last song for September is called “Get Along,” and it can be heard here: LINK. The song asks a simple question: “Can’t we all get along?”
Apparently not.
It doesn't take a social scientist to see that we live in divisive times. There are so many voices around us that demonize people who are different or who disagree with us. In the past few months, we have seen the assassination of a Democratic lawmaker in Minnesota and the attempted assassination of another, along with the killing of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.
But what are we to do? Christians? How should we respond in times like these?
Well, let's try to answer that question together on Sunday. But for now, in the words of Kenny Chesney, maybe we can start by doing our best to “give love the upper hand.”
